New customers must register 48 hours prior to the sale. Once you have been registered, make sure you activate buyer notifications for your new profile on the top right of the home screen. New registrations must submit a credit request form.
Your online bidding application is subject to approval from the OBS credit office. Our credit system is based on financial information and may include credit checks, verification of funds, referrals, or bank approval which can take multiple days to process. Any registrations during a sale are not guaranteed to be processed on short notice.
Login to our Equibid platform. We highly recommend using Google Chrome to avoid any technical issues.
To Launch the Bidding Screen:
- Click ‘Login’ on Equibid using your credentials (if you do not yet have credentials, follow the ‘Registration Process’ below)
- Click ‘Attend’ (You may need to ‘Accept Cookies’)
- In the pop-up screen, check the box next to ‘All’ and click ‘Attend’ again

Before Bidding on a Horse Guidelines
Review the Conditions of Sale to understand warranties and other information regarding the purchase of a horse by clicking here.
When viewing the horse catalog/inventory, ensure to review the horse in its entirety – the horse’s details and particularly, announcements in the info section (if available).
Set up an appointment with the consignor to physically inspect the horse.

Winning Bid Notification
If you are the successful bidder online, you will receive an Acknowledgment of Purchase via email from OBS.
Acknowledgment of Purchase Election Options
- Indicate where the horse is being transported as there may be sales tax implications dependent on the state of the horse location
- Detail the name, city, and state of your Jockey Club Registry account information to send digital certificate papers to
Once you complete the Acknowledgment of Purchase, Xodo Sign will automatically email your completed form to OBS.

The statement for the purchase will be emailed to the email address used in the registration on Equibid within 72 hours of the sale ending.
The Buyer will be required to pay for purchases within 15 DAYS of the sale closing. If payment is not made in full within 15 days of the sale closing, the Buyer will pay OBS a late fee of 1.5 PERCENT per month on the unpaid balance until the payment is received in full. Payment can be taken via check or wire – be sure to include key information such as the sale name and hip number.
Once the payment has been received in full, the digital certificates will be transferred as directed by the Buyer. If OBS has questions regarding the Jockey Club Registry account, OBS will contact the Buyer for more information.
